Gary Clark, Jr.

I stumbled upon the White House Celebration of Blues program last night on PBS and who should be performing, but none of other than Gary Clark!  I grew up with this guy, 5th grade talent shows, birthday parties, classes.....Just incredible.  completely blew my mind.  whats even crazier is later in the night he played with Buddy Guy, BB King and Mic Jagger. get outta here.

my 10 year high school reunion coming up, i've got nothing to bring to the table as far as gloating goes, maybe mags and i will pretend we invented post-it notes, but at least i'll be in the company of some successful individuals.

i have gained way too much weight already this pregnancy.  attempting a quick (and light) detox before heading the bahamas next week.

valentine's gift

i saw this on her valentines day gift ideas and thought it was hilarious and so appropriate for a bedroom.  i went to order it but they were sold out of the 8x10 size so i decided to make a version of my own.  this now hangs proudly above our bed.

just a glimpse of what weekend breakfasts have been looking like around these parts.  lots of eggs, bedhead, man cooking, and thumbs-ups.

valentines

valentine's is silly i know, but i always enjoy a reason to hop out of our routine for a second.  the evening was spent in the backyard grilling some chicken while stella played in the freshly potted dirt for the fig tree (my valentine's present!).  we finished friday night lights (waaaaahhhhhhhhhh :( i cannot believe its over!) while eating a bowl of masted up chocolate covered strawberries with vanilla ice cream (to. die. for).  was such a nice evening.  oh! and one of our orchids bloomed valentine's day morning...so appropriate, kyle didn't even have to buy flowers.

so far i have consumed roughly 2lbs of sugar and many other good treats today.  tomorrow will be a detox day for sure.  the office atmosphere is good for indulgence on holidays i tell you what.  my dear wonderful friend kelly turned the big 4-0 today so we decorated her up (we like to keep it classy that way) and brought her to lunch at the amazing Sorrel and finished off the afternoon with some Sprinkles cupcakes.  it has been a good day.  cant wait to get home and end the evening snuggled up in my PJs, next to kyle finishing up Friday Night Lights.  i cant believe its over!!!

i finally purchased curtains for our bedroom, it has only taken 6 years.  its made a much needed improvement to the room.  no more baby making for us, but it really does set a nice mood.
